Anthology Manager

Anthology Manager - The heart of the Anthology system is the database server. This serves as a central repository for consolidated data for all mobile units. It allows you to interface to a single Enterprise-level database and access the data sent to and from mobile devices. It also contains the configuration information for the mobile applications and the data replication rules and schedules. The Anthology Manager application acts as a front end to the server, allowing you to configure and maintain the system.

Manager provides the means to:
Display an application's table set and other database objects created with Anthology Developer.

Select and maintain database objects for replication to/from mobile units.

Add and maintain mobile devices on the Anthology system.

Associate applications to mobile devices, and selectively release these applications.

Maintain all replication schedules and requirements

Relational Database - The server uses the iAnywhere (Sybase) SQL Anywhere relational database manager. Oracle, Sybase Adaptive Server or Microsoft SQL Server database platforms running on Unix, Linux, Windows, etc. are optionally available for large scale databases serving hundreds of mobile units.

The Anthology database design takes full advantage of relational database technology. Referential integrity is provided using primary and foreign keys. Support is provided for triggers and procedures, row level locking, transaction processing, and indexing for performance.

Replication – The server uses Mobilink synchronization technology to keep the data on the Anthology mobile device in sync with data on the server. It supports replication between a variety of devices such as PDAs, PDA phones, tablets and laptops and a number of different relational databases. The bi-directional synchronization, which can be initiated by the remote or the server, provides a high level of transactional integrity. It can automatically update mobile databases with database changes (tables, columns, indexes, etc.), files and even new program files for the mobile units. Encryption of data during transmission is supported to insure data privacy and integrity, and authentication prevents unwanted access.

Data exchange – The server provides an interface with Anthology Web Services, giving customers with access to their data

Application Management - Uses configuration management and version control to automatically download application updates to the appropriate/selected mobile devices.
